What I do with your details.
Short version: I collect what I need to design your sample and send it to you, I keep it for a year, and I never sell or share it.
Who I am
Builds by Leo is a one-person studio run by Jayden, based in the UK. If you want to reach me about anything on this page: jayden@buildsbyleo.com or +44 7359 713107.
What I collect, and why
When you ask for a sample, I ask about your business — its name, what you do, who your customers are, the colours and feel you want, any website or social pages you already have, and a rough budget — and then for your name, email address and mobile number. The answers about the business are the brief I design from. The contact details are used to email you the sample, and to reach you if I need one thing to finish it. Nothing else, and nothing automated.
I also count anonymous page views and button clicks so I know which pages are worth keeping. Those counts contain no IP address, no device fingerprint, no cookie and nothing that identifies you — they are numbers, not people.
Cookies and tracking
I advertise on Facebook and Instagram, so I need to know which adverts actually lead to someone asking for a sample. For that I use Meta's pixel. If you agree to it, it sets a cookie and tells Meta that you visited this site, which pages you looked at, and whether you sent me your details. Meta can match that to your account if you have one.
It only loads if you say yes. Say no and nothing is loaded, no cookie is set, and nothing is sent to Meta — the site behaves identically. Your answer is remembered on your own device for a year, and you can change it any time from in the footer.
Nothing else on this site tracks you. The page-view counts I keep for myself contain no IP address, no device fingerprint and no cookie — they are numbers, not people.
How long I keep it
Your brief and contact details are deleted after 12 months. Anonymous usage counts are kept for 24 months.
Who else sees it
I don't sell your details or pass them to other businesses. Two processors are involved: Netlify, who host this site and store what you sent me; and Meta, but only if you agreed to the pixel above, and only about pages visited — never your name, number, email or anything you told me about your business. I don't send you marketing texts or emails, so there is nothing to unsubscribe from.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask me for a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email me and I'll do it — no form, no argument, and I'll confirm when it's done. If you think I've handled your data badly you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
